Payer Connection Adds Providence Health Plans to Eligibility Center

Payer Connection, LLC announced that Providence Health Plans has been added to its eligibility center, a portal module that services eligibility requests for participating payers. Providence Health Plans insures over 250,000 members and now customers signing up for the eligibility center can verify Providence member eligibility before rendering services.

Providence Health Plans is the second area health plan to be added to Payer Connection’s eligibility center. The Oregon Health Plan was the first, added in May. Eligibility requests for both insurers are serviced through a single interface. The Oregon Division of Medical Assistance Program services over 400,000 members throughout the state, allowing billing providers the ability to verify enrollment for over 650,000 members between the two plans.

“We are focused on reducing the administrative overhead for both providers and health plans by reducing their paperwork [claims & EOP vouchers], telephone calls, and other administrative tasks,” says Dean Hill, President of Payer Connection. “The standard HIPAA transaction sets allow healthcare professionals to reduce administrative resources by communicating efficiently. Our eligibility request service center allows our customers to verify member coverage without having to call individual health plans or login to their websites, many of which offer this ability. Our plan is to add as many payers as possible to fill out this web service for clinics,” he continued.
